Outreach
Connecting with the public is an essential part of a researcher's role in society. I have worked to reach various audiences including the general public, school students, and college students about climate science, glaciers, and more through different avenues.
Polar Puzzles
I worked with Jason Cervenec at the Byrd Polar Research Center to develop a worksheet for middle school children to share my research and experiences in SE Alaska using cosmogenic nuclide dating. You can find a pdf version here.

GEOPATHS
I helped develop videos and curriculum highlighting how logarithmic and exponential functions can be applied in Earth science research – cosmogenic nuclide dating in my case – with outreach coordinators from Byrd Polar Research Center. These were created to expose students from underrepresented populations to Earth science (and recruit them to major in geology) in college algebra classes at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Public outreach
I often present my research and other geoscience topics to the general public through different events, primarily in Buffalo, but also as far abroad as Pituffik Space Base. I also served as the outreach chair for the University at Buffalo graduate geology club from 2019 to 2021. Events/venues I have presented at include:
-
Earth Science Student Forum, Buffalo Museum of Science, Buffalo, NY, 2024
-
Visiting Scientist Talk, Pituffik Space Base, Pituffik, Greenland (2x), 2023
-
Science Night, Orchard Park Elementary School, Orchard Park, NY, 2022
-
